Ramp is Hiring a Material Handler - C Near Village, IL
The Material Handler is part of a production line crew and is responsible for numerous tasks including cleaning metal, packaging material, identifying material, assisting in minor maintenance, and set ups. This position requires forklift and overhead crane operation and the use of job specific tools.
Essential Functions- To utilize proper handling procedures to ensure that metal product is not damaged
- To ensure all material is properly labelled, identified and packed
- To report any non-conforming metal product
- To work safely and always use proper PPE
- To always follow company rules, regulations and procedures
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to understand and interpret material processing instructions (shop orders)
- Able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Operation of mobile equipment (sit down forklift and remote overhead crane)
- 2-3 years working in a high volume manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Mobile equipment experience preferred
- Safety awareness
- Experience following Quality System procedures
- Mechanical aptitude
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
