Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our Power Systems departmentAs our new Substation Engineer you will be part of a growing team of engineers that help municipal and industrial clients determine their substation needs and design modern solutions that meet their specifications. This includes medium and high voltage equipment specification and design work.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:Serve as a technical substation engineer, developing, reviewing, updating, and modifying, electrical designs for medium and high voltage substation projects.Prepare technical reports to define projects and provide clients with technical direction.Supports preparation of engineering proposals and fee estimates for targeted clients.Provide engineering support for construction projects, including cost estimating, site inspections, punch list development, and shop drawing review.Train, mentor and delegate tasks to early career employeesDemonstrate a clear understanding of industry codes and standards, including the NEC, NESC, and ANSI/IEEE Standards. Familiarity with utility standards is preferred.Participate in the quality review process of work products developed by othersEstablishing relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, other professionals, and expanding networks.Develop substation relay settings and protection schemes for substation designs. QualificationsYour starting point for constant growthFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology and 5 years of qualifying engineering experience in the substation engineering/design field. Substation Protection Engineering or Substation Control and Integration experience is a plus.PE license or desire to pursue PE licensure.Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams).Practical experience with engineering calculations (Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection Coordination, and ArcFlash) utilizing computer modeling software.Practical experience with Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD MEP.
