Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced, dedicated professional to join our team as an underground Hole Watch / Skilled Helper / Laborer – Traveler who is currently living in the Elko, NV, or Winnemucca, NV region. This position will be for a project near Winnemucca, NV to be discussed with the Manpower Coordinator following your application. This is an hourly, non-exempt position that will report to the Project Manager.We will provide lodging if needed and a per diem. We are looking for applicants who have some General Construction experience as a Skilled Helper or Laborer. This project requires the commitment of working the designated schedule until the project you are assigned is complete. We provide paid training for all certifications required to work on the site you are assigned.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote safety as the company’s number one priority
• Demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials
• Be willing and able to work a variety of schedules on-call, including dayshift, nightshift, weekend and holidays, and also be willing to travel and work out of town when necessary
• Comply with all policies and procedures in Employee Handbook
• Ability to fully understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
• Work cooperatively and maintain positive working relationships with others.
• Ability to analyze job and tools required
• Perform accurate measurements, and arithmetic calculations.
• Understand and perform lock out/tag out procedures
• Identify and use basic rigging/lifting devices (cables, chains, come along, shackles, slings, straps, electric winches)
• Identify proper rigging for weight
• Able to operate basic electric tools: impacts, drills, grinders, chop saw, band saw, winches, air compressor, generators, jackhammers
• Operation of hand and shop tools and powered equipment common to the carpentry trade.
• Have knowledge of crane signals
• Operate come along, air impacts, air hoist, tugger, hydraulic rams, porta powers, pressure washer
• Ability to perform pre-trip vehicle inspection (including related paperwork)
• Ability to hook up and drive truck and trailer combinations
• Assist to load and tie down items on a trailer
• Ability to complete job cards and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Knowledge of documents required to enter mine site(s)
• Ability to organize 5000-23’s for all sites (hazard and site-specific, annual refresher, badges) and make them available on demand
• Other job duties as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment
• Maintain required certifications for work assignments. (MSHA, OSHA, site-specific safety, and equipment specific.)
• Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to safely lift 75-100 pounds frequently, using proper lifting techniques
• Other job duties as assigned by management

Criteria/Conditions

• Work is performed in various industrial settings, including Shop, mining, and construction environments.
• Work includes operating both indoor and outdoor across various locations in the Western US, elements vary by season and geographic location.
• While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. Proper identification and use of PPE, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and respirator, gloves, and other required protective equipment as required

Additional Job Information:

• Starting at $16-$22 / hr, based on experience and qualifications
• $65 per diem with lodging, $120 per diem without lodging provided
