As a dedicated Personal Support Specialist (PSS) in Maine, your main role is to provide compassionate care tailored to individuals in need. This involves helping with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as overseeing medication and maintaining a clean, safe environment. You'll also work with healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans, ensuring your clients' well-being and independence.

Your tasks will include:

- Following instructions from the Supervisor.

- Reporting client assignment details to the Supervisor in writing.

- Quickly reporting any significant changes in a client's condition.

- Collaborating with the Supervisor on client progress.

- Providing Personal Care services such as bathing, mobility assistance, meal preparation, and light cleaning.

- Adhering to infection control measures and maintaining client confidentiality.

- Recording daily activities for each case.

- Reporting incidents promptly to the Supervisor.

- Submitting accurate Daily Activity Sheets on time.

- Following instructions, being punctual, and adhering to agency policies.

- Attending annual in-service education sessions.

- Having a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Obtaining or being able to obtain a PSS Certificate within 9 months of hire and starting the class within 2 months of employment.

- Preferably having one year of experience in client care.

- Demonstrating empathy, good judgment, and tact in dealing with clients.

- Practicing good hygiene and maintaining a neat appearance.

- Communicating effectively in English.

- Preferably having current CPR certification.

- Undergoing a comprehensive background check, including a criminal check.
