Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to oncology patients, ensuring their well-being and comfort throughout their treatment journey.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy and other treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients' conditions and report changes to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and side effects
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during challenging times
Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Experience in oncology or related fields such as acute care or primary care
-ACLS (American Heart Association) within 1 year of hire.
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic health record systems
- Understanding of laboratory tests and results interpretation
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
-Within the first year of employment, acquire the Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). Within three years of employment, attain the ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Ability to administer inhalation therapies
