Position Summary: The server is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. Service guests by receiving and delivering their order and collecting payment.

Essential Job Functions
1. Ensure customer satisfaction while performing server duties.
2. Assist in ensuring product quality, restaurant cleanliness, maintenance and security standards are met.
3. Help ensure team provides fast, friendly, and accurate service.
4. Delegate tasks to team and provide follow-up and proactively assist fellow staff members.
5. Engage each guest to ensure they had a memorable experience.
6. Write MODs reports and drop deposits at the end of service when Manager/Supervisor isn’t present.
7. Maintain register when manager isn’t there.
8. Assist in training new staff members.
9. Communicate with the Restaurant Manager on a consistent basis.
10. Assist in implementing new policies with the Restaurant Manager.
11. Prepare and serve food and drinks for guests using suggestive selling techniques.
12. Have a thorough knowledge of menus and applicable specials.
13. Ring food orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for entrees served and make change.
14. Ensure orders are accurate and presented in a timely manner.
15. Pre-bus all tables removing soiled dishes after each course.
16. Be able to operate the hotel computer system.
17. Perform opening and closing procedures along with side work as assigned.
18. Maintain a clean and efficient restaurant.
19. Know and comply with state food handling and liquor laws.
20. Ensures compliance with all cash handling and bill handling policies and procedures.
21. Engage guests in a cordial, efficient and professional manner.
22. Perform all set up and side work.
23. Adhere to hotel grooming standards.
24. Assist host and food runner as situations arise.
25. Resolve guest complaints and perform service recovery when required (escalate complaints to immediate supervisor if needed)
26. Perform any additional tasks requested by management.
Education
High school education/GED.
Experience
Previous experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
Ability to listen and communicate effectively
Excellent customer service skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Previous experience in a restaurant serving role
Problem solver
Previous experience in a fast-service restaurant
Ability to work evenings, mornings, holidays and weekends.
Ability to cross-communicate with front and back of the house
Hours required
Scheduled days and time vary based on hotel needs. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Skills and Abilities
• Must be able to pass TIPS certification/alcohol awareness training and food handler training.
• Knowledge or and ability to operate a computer.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
