We are currently seeking an Associate Counsel, Affiliate Distribution and Affairs to join our legal team based in our New York, New York headquarters. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with SVP – Legal Affiliate Distribution and advise content distribution business clients to develop strategy and deal structure of affiliate transactions in the United States and Canada Play a key role in the drafting and negotiation of complex agreements for the carriage of AMCN’s content portfolio on cable and streaming platforms, including cable networks, SVOD services/applications, FAST channels, AVOD and TVOD/EST. Critically evaluate complex agreements and prepare legal analyses for upcoming deal negotiations Collaborate with the finance, marketing, and engineering/operations related to partner management Advise distribution business with respect to contractual and regulatory compliance Prepare and present legal point of view within legal department and to business clients QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred) J.D. and strong academic credentials required 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience Familiarity with MVPD and streaming platforms and/or content distribution is a plus Highly motivated with a passion for learning Ability to excel in a fast-paced, demanding environment Excellent communication, drafting, problem-solving and analytical skills Even-keeled temperament suitable for long negotiation cycles Member of NY Bar in good standing The base compensation range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000 commensurate with experience.
