Job Summary:

The Engineer I acquires limited knowledge and develops basic skills in this position. They apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks. This position performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience and acquires an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collect data and/or documents
  • Perform standard computations or analysis
  • Prepare drawings and visual aids
  • Observe construction activities
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, management, and subconsultants to meet project requirements.
  • Team player with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Technical background in design and engineering for transportation and civil infrastructure projects (e.g., bridges, culverts, buildings).
  • Familiarity with structural design programs such as RISA 3D, OpenBridge Designer, DeepEX, etc.
  • Proficiency in Bentley Design Products like MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar CAD programs.
  • Experience with the AREMA Manual for Railway Engineering.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
  • No experience required

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience as an engineering intern in related field
  • Experience producing drawings with CAD software

Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:

  • EIT status (passed FE exam) with intent to obtain PE license within the next 5 years.
