Raeco Builders is Hiring a Director of Concrete Operations Near Sioux Falls, SD

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Director of Concrete Operations to oversee and manage our company's daily concrete operations. This position is accountable for providing leadership and oversight for Raeco Builder's concrete division. This position will work closely with the Owner/CEO and operations management team to develop strategies to effectively manage concrete construction operations and execute Raeco Builders strategic plan for Concrete operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with supervisor(s) and Owner/CEO to accomplish business unit goals and provide effective leadership to achieve key business objectives.
  • Coordinate with corporate staff to plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the business fiscal function & performance in concrete division.
  • Demonstrates ability to recommend and implement changes in operating strategy to enhance or improve overall efficiency.
  • Manage P L responsibility for the business which includes monitoring, tracking and managing gross revenue, sales volume, expenditures, margins, etc.
  • Manage and interpret all construction documents, review, and approve payroll, and project invoices.
  • Ability to efficiently oversee progress on awarded projects and provides guidance as required to ensure timely project completion below budget.
  • Works closely with the Owner/CEO and operations management team to formulate, develop and achieve objectives for ongoing construction projects for the business.
  • Oversees project plans based on bid proposals, cost estimates, project timetables, contractual guidelines, customer feedback, Raeco Builders policies and regulatory safety and environmental statutes.
  • Work closely with Accounting/Finance and Owner/CEO on preparation of budgets, financial reports, operational outlook and long-term business strategies.
  • Prepare job start-up responsibilities: budget review, review and execution of subcontract agreements, purchase orders, job tracking spreadsheets, job contact list and schedule team/staff for project
  • Leads business efforts in coordination with the corporate team to ensure optimum construction market share.
  • Estimate future projects for concrete and take offs, budget for projects in regard to staffing, subcontractors, supplies, etc.
  • Project scheduling, keeping development staff informed on lead times.
  • Assist HR and Owner/CEO in recruiting & hiring skilled workers, onboard and provide/schedule training to onboard.
  • Trains and develops supervisory staff to provide management depth and skill base for continuation of efficient project operation.
  • Responsible for planning and managing concrete labor schedules for various projects taking into consideration production numbers first and foremost and then convenience. Communicates on a weekly basis with management a projected monthly concrete labor schedule.
  • Partner with estimators, field superintendents, foremen, on-site and accounting dept to manage projects and ensure project is constructed efficiently on time and under budget
  • Procure all necessary materials, equipment, pumps, and crew accommodations to ensure success of the project before startup begins.
  • Responsible for supervision, direction, communication, and development of the team for each project.
  • Ensure project team is following the defined processes and that the team are acting per their role and responsibilities
  • Displays expert proficiency and knowledge of the business and project management practices.
  • Provides strategic direction to senior management personnel and gives guidance on key decisions for all current projects.
  • Utilizes effective leadership over direct reports to maximize employee productivity including delegation of duties/assignments.
  • With delegated authority, approves and manages project spending and holds employees assigned to these projects accountable for costs relative to budgets.
  • Ability to communicate and develop good working relationships with management, staff, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure participation in Safety & Environmental initiatives that contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve Raeco Builders programs. Responsible and accountable for the safety of all co-workers and others working on a project.
  • Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or observed.
  • Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and Raeco Builders policies & procedures, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so.
  • Reports any and all violations of applicable laws, regulations or Company policies and procedures promptly, and is subject to appropriate disciplinary action (including dismissal) for failure to do so.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Associates degree in Construction Management and/or Business-related field beneficial not required (or equivalent work experience)
  • Minimum 10-12 years of construction or similar experience in construction field
  • Microsoft Office experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
