 Manufacturing EngineerStarting pay $65,000 plus based on experience.

Essential Duties

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.

Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are following regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Engineering; and/or related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Up to Three years’ experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices
  • Technical writing skills preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
  • Microsoft Suite proficiency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to):
    1. Basic data entry into manufacturing software system.
    2. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Language Skills 

  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
