RAC Properties of Athens, Inc is looking for a skilled Carpenters with proven leadership skills to add to our team in Athens, GA and the surrounding areas. In this role, you will be expected to supervise a crew or two while renovating or building homes to include but not limited to installing doors, windows, drywall, trim, cabinets and wall accessories. The idea candidate would be familiar with all aspects of home building an renovation to include light electrical, plumbing and HVAC. While you may be responsible for one or more crews it is also expected that you would be a working leader closely supervising and training your team to help push projects forward in a timely manner. The ideal candidate has 10 years of proven experience as a carpenter in residential construction and possesses basic knowledge of other trade responsibilities. The candidate must be able to put together a take off orders list for jobs as well as create and complete punch lists on a final project.

Primary Duties:

• Lead a supervise 3-10 person teams
• Complete take off orders
• Complete tasks safely
• Order and install cabinets
• Plan and execute work with minimum supervision
• Recognize hazards and danger zones
• Actively participate in demo activities
• Properly read and interpret site drawings
• Install wall accessories/ protections as needed
• Wall framing and drywall installation
• Door and door hardware installation
• Properly install and set door and windows
• Assist with an array of ceiling installations
• Assist other trades when necessary
• Create and complete punch lists

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience with interior work (installing doors, accessories, hardware, drywall, framing, etc.) in residential projects
• Identify and properly use materials, hand, and power tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)
• Understand construction terminology and basic math
• Understand level, plumb, square, area, and volume concepts
• Proven commitment to Safety
• Work in an organized manner
• Able to work late or weekend shifts when needed
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
• Ability to work a Monday – Friday schedule with dependability and consistency
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
• Minimum age 18
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
