Engineering Technician

Responsible for providing technical support to engineers in various stages of oil and gas projects.

Engineering Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, organize, QA/QC, and input data into various computer software applications and databases (PHDWin, OFM, Petra) to provide technical support and assistance to engineers and geologists with project building, tracking, surveillance, and management of oil & gas properties. Collect, compile, and analyze data related to oil and gas operations. This includes field measurements, production data, and equipment performance
  • Maintain and QA/QC production/injection data to be entered into databases
  • Provide production forecasting using production decline curves
  • Provide support to exploration and development by accessing outside information sources. Assist engineers in designing, testing, and implementing various projects and processes. Provide technical support for the maintenance and optimization of oil and gas wells and facilities
  • Aid in the installation, maintenance, and calibration of instruments/equipment used for monitoring and controlling oil and gas processes. Ensure accurate and reliable data collection
  • Adhere to and enforce safety regulations and procedures. Participate in safety audits and inspections to ensure a secure working environment
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment specifications, test results, and project activities. Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment, processes, and systems. Collaborate with engineers to implement effective solutions
  • Work closely with all disciplines including, but not limited to: Engineering, Geology, Accounting, Land, Field Operations. Collaborate on projects and share expertise to achieve project goals
  • Conduct field site visits to gather relevant data. Work in outdoor and sometimes challenging environments to ensure the proper functioning of equipment
  • Digitize files (well logs, geologic maps, hand-written reports) and incorporating them into various softwares or systems
  • Assist in preparing scoping economics for capital projects
