Summary : We are seeking an aggressive, highly motivated candidate to work in a fast paced environment. Must be a self starter with the ability to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of the organization.

The Fleet Dispatcher will seek to optimize the utilization of assets to meet customer schedules, service levels, revenue and profitability goals and driver needs.

This position is on-site at the facility in Mooresboro, NC - Remote work is NOT available.

Responsibilities :

• Provide load planning, coordination and dispatching to a high volume of drivers.
• Communicate professionally with customers electronically and via telephone with regards to scheduling freight for pickup and delivery and to provide updates when changes occur.
• Prioritize drivers' schedules; focus on HOS when planning loads.
• Negotiate the best rates with vendors and the most cost-effective delivery options with customers.
• Provide accurate and detailed information regarding directions, load information, pick-up / delivery times and other special load related information.
• Promote driver retention by managing & solving driver complaints
• Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with DOT regulations, state, government and local laws, rules, safety regulations and internal policies and guidelines
• Ability to adjust and adapt plans quickly to respond to all of the issues and changes involved with trucking, logistics and shifting customer needs.
• Other tasks as needed.

Qualifications :

• Two (2) or more years prior experience in a 3PL or trucking environment
• Must be available for incoming phone calls from drivers, occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Strong computer knowledge and skills (Excel, Word, Gmail, etc.)
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiar with the DOT regulations and Hours of Service helpful.
• Ability to multi-task and keep calm under pressure in a fast passed environment.
• Critical thinking skills-always looks for ways to improve processes and performance.

Education & Experience :

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with Transportation software a plus.

Pay Rate :

Average $20.00 / hr (salary) Based on Experience
