Programmatic Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Media & Publishing

REPORTS TO: Director

LOCATION: Las Vegas or Phoenix, hybrid

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Programmatic Specialist will serve as the buyer across any programmatic platform (DSP, SEM, Social, Direct) the assigned media team recommends. This role is expected to build audiences, execute, manage, and optimize effective and strategic campaigns. The Programmatic Specialist will work with various media teams to ensure RTB campaigns are built and run against campaign objectives and KPIs. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail oriented, able to multitask and analytical. Role reports to Programmatic Supervisor/Corporate Director.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Brings an experienced level of programmatic strategy and innovation to media plan development, ensuring programmatic plans deliver against evolving media landscape.
  • Serves as the buyer across all programmatic platforms (DSP, SEM, Social) and manages direct publisher digital buys.
  • Manages up to their Supervisor/Director as strategic programmatic lead on client business, helping deliver results-oriented outcomes.
  • Stays on the forefront of programmatic trends and looks for opportunity within marketplace, bringing forward proactive ideas and solutions.
  • The Programmatic Specialist must have a Media Strategy Supervisor or above QA all placements before activating a live campaign.
  • Manages buying and optimization of placements within programmatic platforms, including frequent reporting for assigned buys/clients.
  • Implements best practices for bidding, budget management, and reporting/analytics.
  • Works with the Media Strategists on a regular basis, including work flow, company policies and professional development in conjunction with Media Management.
  • Reviews, provides input, and takes timely action on campaign results and analytics, demonstrating the effectiveness of the media optimization, and articulating insights based on performance data.
  • Tracks optimizations in campaign performance enabling clients to understand how we have made a material impact on their media results through optimizations.
  • Leads budget and invoice reconciliation between ad server, DMP and programmatic platforms’ reported impressions.
  • Ensures transparency within all media campaigns.
  • Provides timely reporting and analysis of campaign performance.
  • Manages up to the media team’s Supervisor/Director on plan execution, project status, brainstorms and workflow.
  • Attends client meetings as needed and run point on all programmatic efforts.
  • Develops POVs as needed.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Depending on the client assignment(s), role may specialize in broadcast, programmatic or other specialized areas within the organization.
  • Understands and abides by the agency’s business practices, core values, philosophies and understands R&R’s branded process, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Depending on client, office location or business needs, some travel may be required.
  • Will obtain various certifications including The TradeDesk, Facebook and Google within the first year of employment and complete R&R’s internal 101 training program within the first year.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Works to remain educated on industry trends and market conditions, and looks for opportunity within marketplace, bringing forward proactive ideas and solutions that align with the client’s business goals.
  • Develops solid understanding of assigned client business verticals, objectives and strategies.
  • Maintains accurate daily time sheets.
  • Maintains a business appropriate appearance and demeanor with clients and in other professional environments.
  • Must be conscientious and self-motivated.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one-three years’ experience in paid media planning and buying.
  • Experience and familiarity with planning and/or buying media including: Facebook Ads Manager, Google-Yahoo Ads (search, YouTube, Google Display Network, Discovery, Performance Max), Programmatic DSPs like The Trade Desk, DV360 or other social platforms Twitter, Snapchat and TikTok. Worked with direct digital publishers on digital media buys.
  • Experience and familiarity with agency research tools including: Advantage and Strata/Freewheel, Google Analytics, Google Campaign Manager (formerly Doubleclick) ad server, Scarborough research via Prime Lingo platform, GWI research, Kantar competitive research, etc.
  • Strong oral, written and effective interpersonal communication skills.
