We are looking for a host / hostess for our Rí Rá Irish Pub location on Church Street in downtown Burlington, VT! This is a part-time position, with nights and weekend hours required. The host rate is $17 per hour tips. Applicants with serving experience will also be considered for a hybrid host / server role.

What You Will be Doing

• Greeting guests on arrival with a warm and friendly welcome
• Managing the Reservation System and floor / seating charts
• Accurately quoting wait times and escorts guests to designated table
• Following up with guest requests, either directly or via the assigned Bartender / Server
• Assisting Servers and Bartenders in maintenance and cleaning of service utensils and service equipment as required
• Bussing tables (clearing plates, cups, glassware and condiments etc.)
• Resetting tables to standard
• Answering incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, providing requested information as able
• Accommodating and processing “To Go” orders, merchandize orders and / or door cover as required
• Ensuring that the Host Stand (and all other assigned relevant areas) is maintained in an organized, clean and sanitary manner
• Ensuring that all set-up and break-down tasks are completed to standard
• Interacting with guests; generating and maintaining the “Real Irish Local” environment within the pub
• Maintaining an approach to a “guest experience” focus that centers around “Genuine Hospitality”
• Establishing, nurturing and maintaining trusted relationships with employees and guests
• Having fun!
