Cook’s Direct, Inc., located in Warrenville, Illinois, (soon to be Woodridge, IL) is a distributor and the reselling leader of commercial kitchen supplies and equipment for large volume foodservice operations.
Our employees strive to provide the best products and most knowledgeable response to our customers. This is a hybrid position - Monday and Friday at home and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the office.
Cook’s Direct is looking for a detail-oriented, energetic individual, with a background in purchasing and distribution. The Replenishment Buyer is responsible for the daily management and procurement of products from suppliers.
Responsibilities will include purchasing to maintain optimal inventory levels as well as maintaining excellent supplier relationships.
The successful candidate will show the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create and send purchase orders for multiple business segments and warehouses.
Maintain service level and inventory objectives as defined by management with specific metric accountability. Manage on-time deliveries as defined by management by working with operations, carriers, and suppliers.
Conduct backorder reviews including purchase order expediting and provide feedback to management. Monitor out of stock report to suggest alternatives and to create resolutions to get the product delivered.
Make recommendations to team on discontinuation of slow-moving and duplicate inventory items. Become a subject matter expert on the purchasing system and replenishment processes.
Maintain relationships with suppliers by resolving problems with invoicing, product, or delivery to ensure quality service and longevity of relationships.
Education and / or Experience Three years buying experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to correspond effectively with vendors and managers.
Must have strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Must be able to effectively exercise independent judgment and decision making in executing replenishment and inventory management activities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills. Ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
MRP / ERP experience a plus. Proficient in all Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Cook’s Direct Inc.
