Softscape Crew Member–

The Laborer/Crew Member, Landscape Construction physically implements all landscape construction activities on the job site in accordance with pre-established work schedules, specifications, procedures, and standards of quality. This role requires high quality planting installations, The Crew Member’s job is a pivotal part of masonry/landscape crew. Success on each of these will make you, your team, and the company successful.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs high quality, technically proficient work.
• Represents the company professionally by observing the dress code and being a professional onsite; develops high quality relationships with the Landscape Architect, General Contractor, and Owner.
• Always a team player with fellow Crew Members, Crew Leader, Project Manager, Administrative (Office) support; mentors’ junior staff; alerts Crew Leader of potential problems anticipated or observed; learns the job of the next immediate supervisor
• Knows the job site and its technical peculiarities
• Strictly observes safety rules and ensures others observe them. Permits NO accidents
• Submits all paperwork and required documentation in a timely manner each day.
• Takes care of all equipment and tools by using them safely, reporting and acting on maintenance needs and preventing theft
• Maintains strict punctuality at starting and quitting times, break, and lunch periods
• Maintains neat, organized housekeeping standards on the job, truck bed, truck cab, and assigned field area.
• Safely and efficiently performs all tasks assigned.

Safety: Enforce RP Marzilli’s Safety Program and maintain a Clean Job Site. Promote a climate that emphasizes the importance of complying with all safety measures and requirements.

• Proper use of PPE (Safety Glass, Ear Protection, Hard Hats, Gloves, Hi Vis Clothing).
• Daily clean-up to prevent hazards and injuries.
• Ensure all equipment is operated, maintained, and cleaned per best practices.
• Understand RP Marzilli’s reporting protocols and report accidents as required.
• Conduct weekly Safety Toolbox Talks.

Qualifications:

• Ability to take and carry out directions.

• Must have good working relationship with other crew members,
• Machinery operation – Hoisting/Hydraulics license,
• Valid Driver’s License, CDL preferred,
• Safety Training – CPR/First Aid, Safety Program,
• Self-motivation, positive attitude, good listening, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform heavy physical work in all weather conditions.
• Physical agility is required to access all areas of properties and construction sites.
• Assist in manual labor and lift and/or move objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Lift and place materials weighing up to pounds many times per day.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
