Traveling Fire Suppression Journeyman, $25.00 - $32.00 hr

Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 9 days traveling - 5 days off.

R L Carriers is currently looking for a Fire Sprinkler Fitter at our Wilmington, OH Service Center. The candidate must be motivated team player with a strong technical aptitude and experience performing the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories.

Job Responsibilities:

• Installs, maintains, repairs, or replaces fire sprinkler equipment and systems in strict accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Knowledge to install, perform maintenance and repairs on wet pipe, dry pipe, preaction systems, fire pumps and industrial fire sprinkler systems
• Ensures that each work detail is consistently completed with clean and quality workmanship
• Conduct work in a safe manner utilizing all required PPE, safe work practices, etc.
• Responsible for providing quality workmanship
• Responsible for the supervision of helper and apprentice level fitters 
• Responsible for interpreting drawings and maintaining red line sets daily
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Other duties as assigned
• Manual labor including lifting, climbing and clean up
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

Qualifications:

• 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License and dependable transportation
• Minimum of 4 yrs of onsite industrial job experience
• Minimum of 4 yrs with steel pipe and fire sprinkler systems
• Ability to install and trouble shoot fire sprinkler systems
• Ability to read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used for installation activities
• Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
• Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 50 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Work may include off hours/shift/weekend work as required
