R.J. Grondin & Sons is currently seeking someone to join our team as an Excavator Operator. An excavator operator will need to be able to run cat controls on both large and small machines.

Duties:

  • Experience digging around buried utilities safely.
  • Should be able to carry a grade in a trench.
  • Able to build a slope when provided a visible grade or the use of GPS.
  • Able to load trucks safely on both roads and sites.
  • Safely using rigging to move materials or structures on the job site.
  • Leveling sidewalks, roads, or grassy slopes with the use of a finish bucket prior to paving or seeding operations.
  • Assisting with the installation of granite curb.
  • Installation of light pole bases.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 year experience operating excavator.
  • Must have experience operating in the earthwork industry.
  • Must be able to safely operate equipment around other workers, utilities, equipment, and other obstacles.
  • Must have experience working with trench boxes.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Experience with gps equipped machines is a plus.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and MSHA are a plus.
  • Interested in pursuing additional training related to the construction industry is a plus.
