R.E. Darling Co is Hiring a Contract Review Specialist Near Tucson, AZ

This position will require access to ITAR and/or EAR controlled technical data, technology or source code, and requires that all individuals in this role be authorized to access such information

General Description:

The Contract Review Specialist works under general supervision of the Engineering Department Manager. The Contract Review Specialist is responsible for performing contract review functions for each Production department. The Contract Review Specialist performs analysis of customer contracts and determines requirements, such as packaging and marking, for flow down within company. The specialist analyzes the contract and related technical documents to determine required document configuration for product manufacture. The specialist acts as the tool administrator responsible for maintaining a database and file system of related information, interacting with customer counterparts on behalf of the company, and ensuring tool ownership and marking are established and correct. This position requires attention to detail, thoroughness, excellent organizational skills, and a technical capacity to read engineering documents for determination of configuration. The Contract Review Specialist primarily interacts with the engineering staff and customer tool administrators. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contract review and summarization of customer specifications and requirements
  • Tool Administrator

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED 3 years related experience
  • Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • Preferred experience within the following areas:
  • Tool administration
  • Document configuration management
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite (primarily Word, Excel, Access) and Adobe Acrobat. Training within each software platform is required.

Special Tasks and Focus Areas

  • Contract review and summarization of customer specifications and requirements
    • Review contract to identify administrative information, packaging and marking requirements, quality assurance provisions, special customer flow downs and all other pertinent information needed to successfully build, inspect and ship a product.
    • Summarize findings and flow down requirements within company documents for use by operations
    • Determine customer document configuration during contract review and readiness
  • Completes configuration worksheets within a timely manner in support of contract review and readiness
  • Ensures the correct version of customer controlled technical documents are available
  • Prepares and submits requests for customer documents or for confirmation of the revision level of customer documents
  • Attaches copies of customer documents to Sales Order within ERP system
  • Point of contact during quality system audit relating to contract review and readiness activities
  • Performs self-audit of contract review and readiness responsibilities
  • Tool Administrator
  • Administers data base of tool related information
  • Identifies tool information for incorporation into database including ownership and identification requirements
  • Ensures tool identification is correct and matches between requirements, records and actual tool marking
  • Completes tool certification records and provides to customer as required
  • Primary contact during customer tooling audits
  • Administers and ensures proper disposal of tools
  • Obtains customer approval
  • Arranges for physical destruction
  • Removes identification from tool
  • Certifies destruction as required
