General Functions and Scope
**Rubber Industry Experience Preferred**
The Warehouse Material Handler for R.D. Abbott Company, Inc., (RDA) will primarily be responsible for safety, pick/pack, shipping, receiving, and inventory controls using, facility management and any other duties related to material handling.
*Candidates must have basic computer skills and data entry*
Essential Functional Areas of Responsibilities
Empties trash bins in warehouse, as necessary
Puts away any stray pallets
Ensures aisles are kept clear
Ensures exits are not blocked and ramps are clear
Pulls will-call orders for customers
Pulls product for work orders and loads, as necessary
Pick and pack orders
Ensures nothing in warehouse is out of place
Unloads trucks, as necessary
Helps drivers, as needed
Locates inventory on shelf and updates inventory
Receives product in the system
Ships product in the system
Sweeps warehouse
Cleans forklifts
Cleans parking lot(s)
Maintains equipment, performs regular maintenance, and properly documents maintenance records
Keeps registration and insurance current on equipment
Verifies that trucks and equipment meet all necessary federal and state regulations
Maintains a clean and safe environment in the warehouse and on the vehicles
Shipping
Pulls work order acknowledgements
Prepares all necessary documentation for shipments
Pulls product for shipment
Loads trucks
Receiving
Verifies receiving procedures are followed
Maintains a receiver file
Receives all product into the system by the end of each business day
Administers the Consignment Inventory and Outside Warehousing (OPWH09) procedure
Inventory Control
Maintains accurate inventory
Prepares and maintains consignment inventory reports
Regularly evaluates minimum/maximum levels
Communicates any inventory concerns to Purchasing
Keeps accurate inventory location records
Performs cycle counts, as necessary
Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Customer service experience
Needs to have some experience with warehouse technologies
Data entry experience
Forklift certified, or ability to be certified
Hazmat trained, or ability to be trained
Experience shipping UPS ground and FED EX ground
Experience with UPS Global ship software and FED EX Ship Manager software
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and lift and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure—using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to interpret graphs
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written, or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to use database, Internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and feet to move levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to see where to position forks, lifting platform over, under or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes in order to transport the load to the designated area
Personal Protective Equipment may be required to perform some duties. If necessary, employee will be thoroughly trained on-site; and tested and fitted for appropriate equipment by medical professional
