Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to join our team. As a Production Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning the production schedule to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing operations. Your role will involve working closely with various teams to optimize production processes and meet customer demands.
Responsibilities:
· Manage planning process to include, improving, and maintaining all planning parameters (such as lead time, production schedules, order quantities, forecasts, and safety inventory targets) in ERP/MRP system
· Work with our Fabrication & Assembly team daily to ensure accuracy of inventory and in-transit records
· Monitor and implement changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met
· Recommend viable solutions to reduce costs as well as improve processes, product quality and inventory management
· Promptly inform the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules
· Assist with inventory accuracy and metrics and communicating with the customer on product reports
· Directly work with customers to provide information on order status and coordinate schedule and forecast adjustments to address the customer's needs
· Routine analysis of internal inventory levels and consumption.
· Plan, schedule and coordinate production planning for the Fabrications/Assembly team.
· Coordinate mode of shipping for orders with shipping team.
· Maintain workstation balancing to ensure capacity is being used efficiently.
· Forecast monthly production orders.
· Provide customer service and solutions to internal and external customers as needed
· Function as back up to Fabrication/Assembly supervisors as necessary.
· Enhance internal processes as needed.
· Communicate important updates and production schedule changes that will impact the Quote/Sales department
· Verify Purchase Orders to ensure accuracy of part numbers, prices, ship to addresses, ship dates, etc. and reference against quotes
· Manage and cultivate key partnerships with sales, operations, shipping, engineering, and finance
· Develop and review department operational policies and procedures
· Contribute to weekly meetings around critical project issues, inventory, production, and shipping
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Production Scheduler or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
-· Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management and/or 3-5 years of supply chain, demand planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and MRP/ERP system, especially Great Plains; Learn and use other software as needed
· Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
· Positive attitude and professional behavior; acts with integrity; maintains confidentiality
· Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
· Strong analytical and statistical aptitude
· Willingness to work outside of regular working hours as needed
