Quest Window Systems Inc (“Quest”) is a manufacturer of a window wall system designed for high-rise residential developments, based in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Quest services clients from all over North America, including major metropolises such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Toronto.
We are seeking new team members to join our growing team at our Garland Plant. 1 to 3 years experience in material handling and inventory control is preferred.
We are hiring immediately for 2nd Shift Water Spider Associate - Full time Direct Hire
- Starting Pay Rate: $15.50, plus $1.50 2nd Shift Premium per hour
- Work Schedule: Evening Shift (Mon - Fri, 2:00pm to 10:30pm), ability to work overtime
- Require training on day shift ( 6am - 2:30pm) for 2 weeks

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Prepare, communicate and execute a plan to effectively provide material, tooling, fixtures, gauges material handling, and any required paperwork for assigned production lines
- Coordinate with Group managers, team leads, materials and warehouse personnel to ensure parts are available and ready for production scheduled
- Organize incoming and outgoing parts in your assigned area while maintaining organization and consistency throughout the department
- Take immediate actions in case of changes in priority of production schedule
- Maintain a high level of data integrity within the ERP system across each scheduled job
- Tracks and enters data into MRP and Excel spreadsheets
- Coordinate with Group managers, team leaders and Materials group to ensure the correct jobs are being prepared for each production line
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives
- Escalate issues that impact the assembly of windows to Direct Manager and or Team Lead
- Follow safety procedures and practices across the facility and EH&S initiatives
- Take breaks at designated times and do not leave the area before the horn sound
- Keep area safe, clean, and organized
- Provide support and train other team members as instructed
- Identify problems, communicate, provide input, and assist in resolution
- Learn and understand Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Maintain good attendance and be punctual
- Follow BOM’s and assembly drawings when delivering material to assembly lines
- Monitor the quality of output to identify, discard or re-manufacture faulty products
- Perform other related duties as required
- May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description to meet customer and production requirements
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent education
- Understanding of basic lean concepts, Kanban, inventory and workflow principles
- Able to work with hands for long periods of time and standing for a minimum of 8-hour shifts
- Communication English skills oral and written
- Basic math skills including the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Knowledge and experience of MRP/ERP in a data-driven environment
- Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, anticipate work to be done, work with minimum supervision and have strong follow up skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, organized and positive environment
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and slide material that may weigh up to 50 lbs
