Queen City Animal Hospital is Hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Near Charlotte, NC

Queen City Animal Hospital is an AAHA Accredited, Fear-Free Accredited hospital looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team of amazing veterinary professionals. If you are a team player, love improving the lives of animals, strengthening bonds with clients, have strong technician experience, and want to work with like minded people, this position could be for you!

Don’t know much about AAHA or Fear-Free? Don’t worry- we are glad to fill you in. Already know and appreciate these things? Super! :)

At Queen City AH, we value our registered veterinary technicians and are making strides to utilize our RVT team to the best of our ability, within the legal limitation set forth by the state veterinary board. You will be responsible for exceeding client expectations as you facilitate appointments, asses patients, discuss wellness care, educate clients, assistant in surgery, monitor anesthesia, perform dental cleanings, venipuncture, catheter placement, fill prescriptions, take xrays, obtain lab samples, and always have a compassionate demeanor for all patients and clients. After time, trust, and training, our RVTs also have the opportunity to run their own (specific) appointments and telehealth calls on a rotating schedule with the other RVTs.

Our techs/assistants also help our receptionists as needed, as we are a small, family style hospital where team work is key. Our techs and assistants must be able to work in a fast-paced, complex environment, requiring strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. The ideal candidate will be professional, positive, and focused on providing exceptional patient and client service.

All team members must be, or be willing to become, Fear-Free Certified, as Fear-Free Veterinary Care is central to our patient care and hospital beliefs. It is important to note that we fully embrace fear-free care, and as such, we do not permit the scruffing of cats in our hospital. Please know that we are glad to teach many other safe, fear-free restraint methods, in the event scruffing is all you have been taught in the past.

Only candidates who are or will soon become (graduating from an accredited program this spring) a licensed veterinary technician will be considered. Previous experience with Covetrus Pulse software preferred but not required. Please send cover letter, resume and salary requirements for consideration.

About our Hospital

Queen City Animal Hospital opened in June of 2019, and we have hit the ground running! We are in an amazing part of Charlotte and serve clients and patients in and around 28205. We need a new team member who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that clients have an exceptional experience, someone who has a strong sense of pride and ownership in the success of their veterinary hospital, and someone who wants to learn and grow with us!

We offer Fear-Free care to dogs, cats, and exotics. Our patient centered approach will focus on preventative care while also offering alternative therapies such as laser therapy. Our progressive ownership team strive to provide high quality medicine for the patients and a great work environment for the veterinary team. Our hospital is equipped with the latest Idexx laboratory equipment, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. Our entire team is Fear-Free certified, and it is expected that any new team members will be(come) certified as well shortly after hire.

Why you want to join the QCAH team:

  • Our hospital is an open, welcoming environment for all people and their pets
  • We offer competitive wages
  • After time, training, and trust, we offer the opportunity for our RVTs to take on more responsibility with regards to client communication and patient care.
  • We take pride in making every effort to bring on the right fit for our team, and do not rush into hiring decisions.
  • We believe in a strong work/life balance and encourage taking time off to see the world and spend it with those you love.
  • We are AAHA Accredited and believe strongly in the value of being an AAHA practice. We hold ourselves to a higher standard across the board.
  • We provide outstanding Fear-Free visits for our patients, and value that approach to care
  • We have a team centered atmosphere
  • We believe in community involvement
  • Variety in your day-to-day work
  • Experience with many types of pets
  • Full time employees receive a full benefit package including: health insurance, long term disability coverage, life insurance, 401k, paid time off, bonus structure, continuing education budget, and employee pet discounts.
