TITLE: Behavioral Health Director

REPORTS TO: Anav Clinic Manager

LOCATION: Anav Tribal Health Clinic

SALARY: DOE

SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Director will have clinical and operational oversight of the Behavioral Health Department of the Anav Tribal Health Clinic. The ATHC provides primary care medical and full service dental, as well as mental health services including individual therapy and psychiatric medication assessment and management. The ATHC is a growing rural health clinic seeking to expand existing Behavioral Health services and promote Mental Health/Primary Care integration options.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

· Develop, implement and promote culturally appropriate behavioral health prevention and treatment for Native Americans.

· Provide culturally appropriate clinical consultation and advocacy.

· Develop and oversee implementation of protocols for communication, referral, consultation, documentation, data collection and report-writing.

· Participate in agency and interagency meetings.

· Coordinate and promote outreach activities and other agency services.

· Function as a leader and member of an integrated multidisciplinary team that incorporates mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, and primary medical care.

· Lead and participate in quality assurance activities including chart reviews.

· Participate in hiring process and performance evaluation of team members.

· Provide new employee orientation and training as needed.

· Attend, as well as develop and deliver relevant training as assigned.

· Meet regularly with Clinic Manager and seek supervision as needed.

· Provide consultation in crises and on-call services as needed.

· Provide consultation, prevention, education, and training in areas related to substance abuse, social work, and mental health.

· Collect, analyze, and interpret Behavioral Health data to identify service delivery problems and trends.

· Provide counseling and written case management, including retention of all related documentation in the client file.

· Manage grant funded youth programs.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling.

· Licensure as LCSW or LMFT.

· Two years’ experience providing clinical supervision.

· Alcohol and Drug Certification, a plus.

· Minimum five years’ experience serving the behavioral health needs of adults with severe and persistent mental illness.

· Experience in a setting integrating behavioral health and primary healthcare preferred.

· Experience with providing community-based services preferred.

· Knowledge of local service systems, including services for homeless individuals, housing services, mental health services, and medical services.

· Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members.

· Ability to work collaboratively with clients, other ATHC staff, team members, and to treat everyone with respect and dignity at all times.

· Experience working within the American Indian/Alaska Native community prefered.

· If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years sobriety/clean time.

· Ability to pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests.

· Ability to pass criminal background and DMV checks.

· Grant writing and grant management experience are highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
