Overview

A product development group within audio-video company Quantum Technologies, located in Huntsville, AL Hear Technologies designs and manufactures professional audio equipment used in recording studios, broadcast, and live performance applications.

Responsibilities

• Simulate, prototype, and evaluate analog circuits of new and existing products.
• Design alongside the embedded and software engineers to create cohesive products that fit within the branding guidelines.
• Make design considerations based on target price point and product release schedules.
• Evaluate redesigns of existing products when necessary.
• Utilize test equipment to benchmark designs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with 10 years of experience
• AS/BS degree in engineering preferred
• Proficiency in schematic design and PCB layout.
• Experience in analog audio circuit design using op-amps, BJTs, MOSFETs, and other components.
• Ability to perform and analyze SPICE simulations.
• Comfortable with hand-prototyping and debugging audio circuits.
• Highly self-reliant in problem-solving.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain clean repositories of projects, design files, bills of materials (BOMs), and correspondence with contract manufacturers.
• Thoroughness and great attention to detail for quality control (QC) of products.
• The ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance

• Power supply design expertise.
• Experience in digital audio circuit design.
• Knowledge of embedded programming.
• Familiarity with FPGA programming (VHDL, Verilog, SystemC, etc.).
• Proficient in hand-soldering surface-mount technology (SMT) components.
• Experience using Altium for design work.
• Familiarity with Solidworks for mechanical design.
