Overview:

Quantum Research International, Inc. (Quantum) is a certified DoD Contractor providing services and products to US/Allied governments and industry in the following main areas: (1) Cybersecurity, High Performance Computing Systems, Cloud Services and Systems; (2) Space and Ground Support Systems; (3) Aviation Systems; (4) Missile Systems; (5) Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning Systems and Experimentation/Training; and (6) Audio Visual Systems and Services. Mission:

Quantum Research International is currently seeking an Automated Software Tester. The ideal candidate will be proficient in utilizing SmartBear Test Complete, a comprehensive automated software testing tool, to ensure the quality and reliability of our software applications. As an automated software Tester, you will play a crucial role in automating test cases, executing tests, and identifying and reporting defects. All testers create and present real-time technical briefings describing software functions to customers and write user guides.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience in Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E)
    • General:
      • Work in a team environment or independently with multiple systems under test.
        • Conduct remote testing and clearly communicate status, issues, and technical functions over web services (e.g., webexchange) with teammates and customers.
      • Conduct DT&E tests to include functional and regression tests to verify and validate candidate software meets stated requirements.
      • Design, develop and maintain automate test scripts using SmartBear Test Complete.
      • Monitor SmartBear webpage for software updates and coordinate with network operations to install them.
      • Understand and contribute to a successful software development lifecycle.
      • Participate in an Agil Scrum team to work as one, learn through experiences, self-organize, and reflect on successes and losses to continuously improve.
    • Requirements:
      • Read, interpret, and apply .xsd and other schema documentation.
      • Participate in internal and customer attended requirement analysis.
      • Review various internal and external requirement documents to identify test requirements and assess testability.
      • Identify required test tools and other test artefacts both existing and to be developed.
      • Apply learned mission tactics techniques and procedures during software evaluation to determine the software’s ability to meet user needs.
    • Planning:
      • Apply prescribed test methodologies.
        • Critical operational issue, operational capabilities, measures of evaluation, and measures of performance.
      • Incorporate message processing business and normalization rules into tests procedures.
      • Participate in engineering custom test architectures.
      • Develop individual and cross functional test scenarios, concepts, and strategies.
      • Create data collection spreadsheets to detail test measures and record test results.
    • Execute Test:
      • Test in remote (Amazon Work Space) and on premise classified environments.
      • Execute manual tests in a disciplined and efficient manner.
      • Evaluate performance using established test criterion.
      • Record compliance with customer requirements.
      • Report daily progress and status per assigned task, report roadblocks.
      • Create test messages in various prescribed formats.
      • Proficiently operate custom and commercial software tools.
      • Troubleshoot test configuration anomalies and reconfigure the system under test as required.
      • Monitor and report server performance during application processing capacity tests.
      • Develop and execute automated desktop application tests utilizing SmartBear’s Test Complete or similar software.
    • Deficiency identification, investigation, characterization, and reporting:
      • Identify and characterize functional deficiencies and record steps to reproduce them.
      • Include technically relevant screen captures, data samples and test environment description.
      • Review potential deficiencies with software developers and assist in causal analysis.
      • Apply prescribed deficiency report formats to record noted deficiencies.
      • Accurately document deficiencies and update status in Microsoft Azure Dev/Ops.
      • Recommend application design improvements.
    • Test reporting:
      • Update test results in Microsoft Azure DevOps.
      • Provide daily status and test plans during the development and test team scrums.
      • Report progress and requests for assistance to the lead and other test engineers during daily test team meetings.
    • Customer Interactions:
      • Constructively participate in demonstration practice runs and review test and technical documentation prior to customer release.
      • Prepare and present functional capability briefings to customers.
      • Provide automated test case creation status I customer presentations as required.
      • Author software functional User Guides outlining capabilities and procedures issued to users with varied experience levels.
    • DOD Top Secret Security Clearance (can upgrade from Secret), must be eligible for SCI.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field 5 years relevant experience in Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) involving communications software, message translation, and database storage.
  • Experience in Test Complete or similar automation test suite in a must.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Ci/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, and employ keen attention to detail.
  • Testers must demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly through test documentation and oral presentations.
  • Experience in other Department of Defense (DoD) test concepts and familiarity with architectures involving cross-domain solutions are a plus.

Salary Range

$115,000.00 - $135,000.00
