wiqRetail is the hub that delivers advanced analytics back into Woolworths. It’s a team made up of smart, passionate people who focus on executing a roadmap of stimulating, impactful projects. The team shares their technical and commercial superpowers to ensure we are delivering and transforming the global retail industry, through analytics at scale.

What you'll be doing:

• Working on industry “firsts” – retail has more opportunity to leverage datasets and advanced analytics for new projects than other industries, so the chance to reach for (and attain) remarkable outcomes is there
• Providing technical leadership of a high-performing team to deliver impactful projects that create commercial value
• Work on impactful, high-value projects across different domains, that deliver real-world outcomes. Such as promotions and pricing, supply chain, people analytics and last-mile optimisation (plus some others that we’re not disclosing just yet)
• Lead longer-term projects, ensuring you get to see the outcomes of your work
• Sit in agile squads and work closely with engineers and business stakeholders to drive outcomes
• Lead the design and delivery of high-quality analytics, from scoping, data quality assessment, data manipulation, method selection, model building, insights generation and visualisation
• Proactively participate in learning forums and sharing knowledge with the broader wiq team in Australia and NZ

We know people are not bullet points, but the skills and experience we're looking to add to the team are:

• A technical degree, such as Actuarial, Maths/Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, and Tableau / PowerBI / Google Looker Studio
• Experience scoping and designing solutions that use data to drive decisions and influence stakeholders
• The ability to move fast with care, delivering high-quality work in a fast-moving environment
• Experience building predictive models in a commercial environment is advantageous, but not essential
• Experience in a similar role; leading others in extracting meaningful insights from large, complex, customer or transactional data sets
• A collaborative style and the ability to work with and positively influence a variety of people across all levels and functions will see you succeed, as we balance success tomorrow with outcomes today
