We are seeking a talented and highly motivated System Administrator II to join our growing organization. You will monitor and maintain in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. You will also participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in general IT technical support, have a desire to implement and maintain rigorous processes, and possess strong communication and relationship skills when interfacing with staff ranging from interns to executives. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end users and department managers
  • Deploy physical and virtual servers, networked printers / scanners, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and all host security systems
  • Provide technical and operational guidance to IT team members
  • Monitor and maintain communication (email, IM, video / teleconferencing, etc.) and connection solutions, including local area networks, intranet, and Internet applications
  • Perform routine system backups and restores
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, input/output fleet, and workstations
  • Analyze system, server, application, and connection device performance
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development efforts
  • Learn new systems and processes and help to drive continuous improvement of our capabilities as the organization continues to grow and accelerate
  • Perform maintenance, implementations, and emergency remediation's outside of business hours, which requires occasional availability on nights, weekends, and holidays

What We’ll Expect From You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/IS or equivalent work experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in IT system support, showing advancement
  • 2-5 years in a system administrator or system engineering role
  • Microsoft, ITIL, and other certifications a plus
  • Strong administrative experience with several of the following applications and platforms: Active Directory, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, SQL Server
  • Experience with design and troubleshooting of networking technologies such as DHCP, DNS, WiFi, RADIUS, VPN
  • Desired/helpful skills: ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, other enterprise applications and collaboration tools
  • Experience using scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python to support automation
  • Experience with Azure AD identity management, single sign-on, SAML, and SCIM
  • Strong practical understanding of the ITIL framework, including experience with Incident, Problem and Change Management
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with business partners, IT staff, and vendors
  • Understanding of IT governance, information security policies, standards, and industry best practices
  • Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required
  • Highly effective when working as an individual contributor and when working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational, record keeping, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to become a subject matter expert on various applications or platforms
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable in fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and manuals
