This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the accounting team supporting a high growth organization. The Cost Accountant’s responsibilities will focus on the areas of inventory, standard costing, and cost of goods. This role will report to the Cost Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in Inventory and COGS monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes 
• Assist in maintaining standard cost system to ensure accuracy of inventory valuation and support annual standard cost updates
• Assist in maintaining standard costs for all raw materials, WIP, and finished goods processes
• Review manufacturing spend and evaluate performance against standards
• Review current product costing methodology and identify improvement opportunities
• Participate in month-end close, preparing journal entries for inventory and cost of goods
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations for all inventory accounts
• Collaborate with the supply chain, manufacturing, and distribution/warehouse departments to discuss and resolve issues in areas such as production, purchasing, accounts payable, receiving, and shipping
• Analyze and report purchase price and manufacturing variances
• Analyze and report E&O reserves
• Assist in the development and maintenance of SOX controls related to costing and inventory
• Participate in annual physical inventory
• Work with the operations team to implement an effective cycle count program
• Prepare for and participate in external reviews and audits
• Ad hoc special projects as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Develop, prepare, analyze, and interpret reports associated with production activity
• Experience in a process manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Ability to multitask & work in a time-sensitive environment
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and related tools, pivot table proficiency
