Job Description – Warehouse Manager

General Description

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overall warehouse/lay-down yard, materials management, control, and safety.

Duties

  • Establishes layout of warehouse and or lay-down yard, using warehouse management industry best practices to safely maximize warehouse space and streamline operations to efficiently support construction efforts.
  • Ensures all inventory is handled and stored safely, according to any requirements and engineering specifications.
  • Executes receiving, count, and inspection of all materials, equipment, tools and consumables delivered to the warehouse/ lay-down yard and addresses any discrepancies regarding QA/QC, overage, shortage, damage, etc.
  • Records inventory received against purchase orders and shipping documents, ensuring proper identification and storage locations.
  • Facilitates and coordinates availability of inventory to meet construction schedules. Manages inventory availability by forecasting and reserving inventory based on construction schedule or look ahead. Monitors change to construction for material, equipment, and tool requirements to ensure appropriate requisitions and/or revisions are efficiently addressed to avoid inventory delays for construction.
  • Obtains and resolves inventory related questions and/or problems, directly coordinating between project manager, engineering, suppliers, fabricators, construction, project controls or other management.
  • Directly manages, controls, and performs data input for project materials, equipment, tools, and consumables withing our inventory management system (ClearSpider), to provide real time and accurate inventory reporting.
  • Executes bag and tag, phase bundling, structure staging and kitting.
  • Performs weekly/monthly/annual inventory audits to ensure accuracy of inventory.
  • Directly coordinates and supervises the off−loading and storage of materials and equipment as they are received or issued to construction.
  • Maintains all files, receipts, and records for warehouse or lay-down yard inventory and operations.
  • Fills stock orders by selecting and pulling the proper tools from inventory and assures that field operations receive all tools needed for construction or projects.
  • Maintains safe and orderly warehouse and lay-down yard using best practices and procedures.
  • Manages and prepares close-out of warehouses/ lay-down yards, to include obtaining proper disposition instruction of excess materials.
  • Manages, schedules, maintains, and controls material, tool or equipment calibrations, certifications, and any other required records.
  • Acts as liaison between Project manager, customer, supplier, and construction management to resolve any Inventory issues.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
  • Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested

Required Experience and Education

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of relevant experience

Skills

  • Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful, and proactive with a tenacious and empowering team orientated style
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving experience with the ability to multi-task and apply a structured approach to complex situations
  • Ability to work irregular schedule and long hours required to meet required deadlines
