Quandel Enterprises LLC is Hiring a Director of Engineering Near Harrisburg, PA

Quandel Energy Solutions is currently searching for a Director of Engineering in our Harrisburg, PA office.

Looking to expand on our core construction services, Quandel created a new business unit called Quandel Energy Solutions (QES) in 2021 to provide our clients with a service offering focused on energy efficiency, resiliency, and sustainability. Despite being the most recent addition to the Quandel Enterprises family of companies, QES is staffed with professionals that have worked in the construction, performance contracting and energy sectors for decades and have successfully completed hundreds of projects. To date, QES been very successful in identifying and working with a variety of customers to provide comprehensive facility needs assessments, guaranteed energy savings and hybrid construction projects, and renewable energy installations to reduce their carbon footprint.

Summary

The Director of Engineering plays a crucial role in the Quandel Energy Solutions team by leading the engineering and project development teams. The primary focus is ensuring the successful design, development, and execution of energy projects in line with the company's goals and industry best practices. Collaboration with the business development and operations team is critical to success.

What You Will Do

They will be responsible for leading and developing energy projects while considering technical feasibility, financial viability, and regulatory compliance. The Director of Engineering will collaborate with the business development team to assess potential projects and provide technical expertise during project identification and create comprehensive and accurate project proposals. They will oversee the technical specifications for energy projects while also evaluating and recommending technologies to enhance project efficiency. This candidate will manage and lead the engineering team and ensure compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or related field); advanced degree may be preferred.
  • Industry recognized participation and certifications (P.E. required, Certified Energy manager or similar certification desired)
  • Proven experience in project development and engineering leadership within the energy sector, preferably with a focus on energy efficiency or renewable energy.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, energy technologies, and project management.
  • Familiarity with industry measurement and verification protocols and standards and implementing M&V programs.
  • Experience with risk management for construction projects.
  • Understanding of construction project financing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a technical team.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed. While performing the essential functions of this position, must regularly see, speak, and hear; frequently stand; walk; occasionally kneel and stoop; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
