Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Senior Settings Engineer. You will be responsible for the technical and engineering design support of protection and control schemes in the high voltage electrical substation, including independently performing engineering studies, developing engineering calculations, providing quality review of engineering calculations, and generating appropriate reports and documentation as warranted. This position will report into the 100 Colonial Center Parkway, Lake Mary, Florida location. 

Responsibilities

• Responsible for design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes, using ASPEN softwares.
• Modeling, short circuit and overstressed breaker studies, and the protective relaying recommendations for proposed generation interconnections to clients' electrical system.
• Ensuring all relay settings activities, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with company’s established policies and objectives, and with clients' design standards.
• Present technical solutions to key customers responding in real time to technical concerns and answering questions in a knowledgeable, articulate manner.
• Work collaboratively with the appropriate groups/individuals in Qualus to develop and implement technical solutions that support the objectives of the Engineering Department.
• Telecommuting permitted but not required.
• Duties require traveling to unanticipated clients’ worksites throughout continental United States on an average of every 6 months from Monday morning through Wednesday evening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field such as electronics, industrial or mechanical engineering; foreign degree equivalency accepted.
• 3 years of experience as Relay Settings Engineer.
• Special skill: proficient in ASPEN software.
