We are a small, family-owned company that has been in business for over 30 years. We sell, service, and rent all types of weighing equipment for over 2000 businesses in California and Nevada. Examples include vehicle scales, platform scales, hopper scales, conveyor belt scales, and bench-top scales. To support continued growth, we are seeking a Field Service Technician to work in the Reno, Nevada area. This position is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing and calibrating electronic and mechanical weighing equipment, at customer locations.

This is mostly a local job. There will be some out-of-town runs. In this role, we anticipate you staying out-of-town 20 nights per year.

You do not need a Class B CDL to start, but it is preferred. We will pay for your commercial driving training course and licensing fees. The training and licensing will take place on your time.

No experience with weighing equipment? No problem! If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy troubleshooting and solving problems, have a willingness to learn and possess a positive attitude, we can provide training specific to the scale industry.

Who You Are:

• Mechanically and/or electrically inclined
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with a small team
• High-School Diploma or GED
• AA Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance or repair (preferred)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of directly related work experience with maintenance/repair of mechanical or electrical systems
• Class C license with clean record. Class A or B license preferred (must obtain Class B within 2 months of hire date)
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language
• Ability to use computers (PC/Windows/Microsoft Office)
• Physically strong, with the ability to lift 50 pound weights above your head - frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/ pulling
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all types of industrial businesses with exposure to hot, cold, dirty and confined space environments
• Neat, clean and professional appearance
• Comfortable with variable hours and occasional weekends
• Clean Background and Driving Record and Pre-Employment Drug Screening

What You Will Do:

• Perform scale system preventative maintenance, installations and repairs
• Load equipment, tools, parts and PPE needed for execution of scale services
• Operate a manual transmission "test truck" that carries our testing equipment and has a knuckle boom.
• Assist with maintaining, stowing and cleaning equipment, vehicles and tools
• Follow company and customer safety guidelines
• Maintain communication with Field Service Technician co-workers
• Complete all job related documentation
• Carry out overtime, on-call and out-of-town duties as required

Salary:

• $24-$30/hour
• $2000 Signing Bonus (for CDL candidates)
