Quality Clinicians LLC is Hiring a RN - Labor and Delivery Near Sitka, AK

RN - Labor and Delivery

We're looking for RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening. The right RN should have 2 years or more of recent experience.

As a Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

  • Provide basic bedside care.
  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients.
  • Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology!
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
  • Able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times.

This is a high acuity, fast-paced unit that requires teamwork and strong communication skills. First Time Travelers Accepted. Travelers will be expected to float.

Pay Package

  • Paid Weekly
  • Weekly Gross $ 3,526.00
  • Hourly Rate $ 27.75/hr
  • OT Rate $ 41.63/hr
  • Weekly Stipend $ 2527.00
  • Blended rate $ 97.94/hr
  • 13 Week contract
  • 36 hrs/week, 3x12 Nights (12 hrs)

Job Description:

Position: OB/Labor Delivery Nurse

Shift: 3x12 Nights (19:00:00-07:00:00)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated OB/Labor Delivery Nurse to join our team at a Critical Access Hospital. As a crucial part of our healthcare services, you will provide exceptional care to our patients during the ante partum, post partum, laboring stages, newborn baby care, and post-surgical C-section patients. This position requires a high level of professionalism, independence, and the ability to adapt to various patient conditions.

Position Duties:

- Perform nursing care procedures with expertise and consideration for specific patient conditions and treatments.

- Follow physician's orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures manuals, and hospital policies.

- Provide support and care to individuals of all ages and their families.

- Work after hours, holidays, and weekends as required.

- Respond to emergencies, including trauma and fetal distress C-sections, by providing total peri-operative nursing care.

- Make sound nursing judgments in emergency situations and consult with appropriate managers/supervisors when needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Promote the SEARHC Seven Standards of Excellence and implement safe, therapeutic, and efficient patient care.

2. Plan, coordinate, and complete patient care on the C-section post-surgical and obstetrics unit.

3. Conduct nursing assessments, document findings, and identify patient needs.

4. Impart educational knowledge to patients, families, staff, and the community.

5. Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, provide feedback, and assist in orientation activities.

6. Develop and contribute to nursing care plans based on patient problems and goals.

7. Perform other assigned duties as required.

Position Qualifications:

- Education: Valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.

- Experience: Labor Delivery RN experience.

- Certifications: BLS (must obtain ACLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire date).

- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Proficiency in nursing care principles, practices, and procedures. Ability to apply scientific principles in operating medical equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:

- Must be flexible to facility needs and assist with patient care during low census on the unit.

- Must be willing to float to the Medical Surgical Floor and ED if needed.

- All travelers are required to show proof of completed COVID vaccinations. Exemptions will not be accepted.
