QUALITY CARE SURGERY CENTER, LLC is Hiring a GI Technician Near Glendale, CA

This site works a 4/10 Alternative Work Schedule

Position Summary:

Serves as a support person assisting with GI procedures; assists the circulator/surgical technician with patient positioning, cleaning of instruments and scopes, cleaning the room following the procedure, and helping with room turnover.

Essential duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Clinical Skills

  • Assess and assist with the physical needs of the patient before and after the procedure.
  • Insure proper functioning of scopes, autoclave, ultrasonic cleaner and other endoscopy equipment.
  • Assist the physician with procedures, recognize and help prevent complications before, during and after each procedure.
  • Anticipate the needs of the physician performing the procedure and ready the procedure room as needed.
  • Know the location of emergency equipment and have readily available.
  • Demonstrate appropriate care and handling of specimens per facility protocol.
  • Compile pertinent patient information before the procedure and record appropriately on the patient's chart.
  • Understand medications administered, along with possible side effects and contraindications.
  • Adequately perform all clinical procedures related to their clinical area.
  • Demonstrate proper cleaning and handling of endoscopic equipment.
  • Perform patient call backs as assigned.
  • Assist with the traffic flow of the endoscopy area as assigned.
  • Insure adequate supply of supplies and equipment for daily need and keep procedure rooms stocked at all times.
  • Communicate need for supplies to be ordered to appropriate resource.
  • Review procedure schedule for the day and prepare as supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrates Compliance With Abuse Reporting Responsibilities.
  • Identifies and reports suspected child, spousal/partner, and elder abuse per protocol.
  • All other duties as directed by management.

Communication

  • Listening respectfully, giving feedback directly, honestly and talking with others to clarify differences.
  • Utilizes translation services when needed.
  • Utilizes appropriate services when needed to communicate with employees and patients with speech and hearing disorders.
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, their family, and other external and internal clients (including fellow employees) from diverse backgrounds.

Quality

  • Demonstrates a willingness to look at new ideas and work in a changing environment.
  • Understands, verbalizes and participates in the quality improvement process.
  • Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $24.50 - $26.50 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
