Qualis Home Health Services of Maryland is searching for our inaugural Director of Operations, with the opportunity to etch his/her name in company history with the important role of overseeing our new location. This position requires a unique individual that has seasoned experience in home health operations, specifically in alignment with the state of Maryland Department of Human Services regulations. This sought-after candidate must be experienced with not only overseeing the day-to-day operations, but also overseeing the credentialing process and obtaining Medicaid provider status, etc. If you truly understand the A-B-C's of Home Care/Health, look no further!!

Director of Operations – Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Has the authority for managing Agency business affairs and general day-to-day operations.

· Assists the Administrator in formulation of general and program policies by providing background information and interprets the implications for the Agency of policies considered.

· Ensuring growth and profitability of local agency.

· Promote and maintain effective channels of communication.

· Oversee and monitor organizational quality assurance (QA) & performance improvement (PI) and risk management (RM) activities.

· Assures compliance with all necessary standards and regulations Maryland Department of Human Services are consistently met.

· Participate in the inaugural hiring of remaining office staff and care teams

· Oversee state licensure renewal process.

  • Oversee the formation of company advisory board and conduct meetings (quarterly or twice a year).
  • Oversee the credentialing and maintenance process (including maintenance) with various MCO’s and State Waiver Programs.
  • Oversee the enrollment and revalidation process of the state Medicaid Waiver programs.
  • Be familiar with, and maintain Agency rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarize all employees, including those on contract, with Agency rules, policies, and procedures and ensure the policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Liaise with federal, state, and private organizations on behalf of the Agency.

· Hold regular management and staff meetings to ensure efficient operations and communication to and from all levels of the Agency.

· Responsible for advanced operational functions that include the collaboration with the agency Quality Assurance (QA) team, to ensure the oversight and periodic review and evaluation of client records meets agency and state-level compliance.

  • Plan and coordinate weekly staff meetings; in addition to any other staff/departmental meetings.
  • Take action on reports and recommendations of any authorized planning, regulatory or inspection agencies.
  • Identifies home health needs and resources available and develops home health plans.
  • Develops goals and evaluates programs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness through reviews, audits, cost allocations, and activity reports.
  • Provide role modeling of teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude.
  • Participates on boards, panels, and commissions; represents the company within the community.
  • Ensure timely completion, accuracy, submission, and maintenance of required reports.
  • Upon designation serve as qualified person to perform the responsibilities of the Administrator's position in his/her absence

Director of Operations– Minimum qualifications are:

  • Three (3) years of Leadership/Management.
  • Management of home health or a related healthcare sector is required.
  • An Associate or bachelor’s level degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred but not required.
  • Proficient understanding of the Maryland Department of Human Services regulations and guidelines as it relates to RSA's
  • One (1) year experience with Maryland Department of Human Services state Medicaid waiver and in-home aide programs
  • Experience with the credentialing and maintenance process of various Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
  • One (1) year plus experience using the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related software.
  • Must be able to work under pressure as needed.
  • Must have excellent communication and people skills.
  • Good knowledge of management practices; home health programs, operations, and community resources
  • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of publics including staff, administration, Board of Directors, community groups and government agencies.
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely.
  • Must understand and learn each of various positions to ensure the best leadership and support is provided to ensure maximum performance of staff.
  • A knowledge of and special sensitivity to the needs of the targeted population of focus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
