Research Assistant/Associate, Analytical

Our client in the Durham/RTP area uses the power of biotechnology to replace petrochemicals in everyday products, with more sustainable, engineered enzymes. We are looking for someone passionate about achieving this mission and contributing to the biomanufacturing revolution.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and carry out enzyme assays in multi-well plates
• Regular use of UV/Vis or fluorescence spectroscopy
• Maintain stocks of buffers and consumables to support ongoing workflows
• Efficiently document and present results
• Identify and communicate procedural deviations quickly and effectively
• Support R&D team as new milestones arise

Qualifications:

• Position and level is based on experience. BS or MS in Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 0-3 years of laboratory experience
• Candidate must possess a high level of technical aptitude, excellent communication, organization, and collaborative skills, and demonstrated ability to innovate, troubleshoot, and thrive in a dynamic cross-functional team environment
• Ability to think and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with high throughput screening techniques
• Familiarity with enzyme assays
• Experience running HPLC instruments
• Experience working with BSL1 organisms
