Position: Machinist (Manual Lathes/Mills/Drill Presses)

Location/s: Ashland, VA

Duration: 3 months contract (possibility to convert to permanent role depending on performance and needs)

Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Mon-Fri; Work 10hrs./day, and Saturdays as required)

Pay Rate: Up to $25.00/hr. (Depending on experience)

Job Description:

Qualdoc is hiring a Precision Machinist for the manufacturing of overhead cranes and components, specializing in Manual Lathe, Manual Mill, and Boring Mill/Drill Press.

Expectations and Required Skills:

• Interpret intricate machining drawings, and operate manual lathes, mills, and drill presses, boring mill based on provided specifications.
• Maintain tolerances within .0005” for precise machining using precision measuring equipment.
• Ensure safe practices in a heavy industrial environment, lifting to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and communicate effectively with team members and engineers.

• Punctual attendance is expected daily.
• Work a 10-hour shift and Saturdays as needed.

• Must pass a criminal background check (7-year felony sex offender)
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test (10 panels for recreational drugs and opiates)
