Sterile Processing Technician - Orthopaedic

MUST :

Experienced Sterile Processing Technician Certified

Must be Certified as a Sterile Processing Technician

Must have at least 1 years of experience

Must have an active BLS

Strong experience autoclaving / Sterilizing instruments and equipment

Assist in the training of other personnel

Will ensure availability of anesthesia supplies and equipment in the OR

Replenish anesthesia stock items

Deliver specimens and supplies

Stock medical / surgical supplies

DUTIES :

Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for, but not limited to the following :

Will autoclave and sterilize equipment and instruments

Train personnel as needed

Stock medical / surgical supplies

Will ensure Operating Room is stocked properly

Performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned or required

Monitors biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.

Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, submits requisitions, collects and distributes instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment.

Performs environmental maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing, the operating room, and in equipment storage areas.
