QTEC Aerospace is Hiring a PR023-053 - SR. SYSTEMS ARCHITECT Near Colorado, CO

QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SR. SYSTEMS ARCHITECT to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The successful candidate will be a MBSE SME and will support the systems engineering needs on MBSE and general systems engineering.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Consume use cases and systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of Epics and Features, to implement customer-requested capabilities
  • Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews
  • Support junior systems engineering team members in enhancing their skills in the department
  • Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the resources available
  • Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures
  • Reviewing the content and details of technical products
  • Acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis
  • Be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning and status
  • Some travel is required

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree with at least 14 years of increasingly responsible Systems Engineering roles in developing, integrating, and supporting large-scale software-intensive systems or a Master's degree at least 12 years of relevant experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with complex command and control systems, mission analysis, performance analysis, requirements solicitation, decomposition, and management, application of modeling to testing and verification
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of models to drive solutions in complex systems is required with specific demonstrated expertise in DoDAF and SysML methodology
  • Experience in the development of key diagram types to create logical and physical models that depict static and dynamic behavior, performance, element interactions, internal and external interfaces, states, and modes
  • Should possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS System
  • Experienced user of the DOORS tool
  • Requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components
  • Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system; defining the relationships between internal and external components; communicating system level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users
  • Skills generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities
  • Specific roles on a program to use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition through a structured and logical approach
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze high-level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present technical approaches and findings
  • Demonstrated ability to implement engineering plans within a project
  • Must have the ability to be flexible to support various tasks on short notice
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in transitioning a mature and evolving project into MBSE
  • Experience with Cameo (or Magic Draw), Enterprise Architect, Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements (DOORs) to manage multiple product baselines
  • Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition
  • Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition, as well as knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation
  • Experience with Cyber Security, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and network design

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Salary Range

$167,000 - $224,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
