QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SYSTEMS ARCHITECT to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will serve as the Product Team Product Owner (similar to the SAFe Product Manager) for the DevSecOps Product Team.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
  • Conduct analysis, make architectural decisions, and update the system architecture in compliance with requirements
  • Review cyber, software, and network designs for compliance and alignment with architecture.
  • Generate engineering estimates and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.
  • Develop program system architecture capability and capacity through mentorship of more junior staff.
  • Candidate needs to have the ability to be flexible to support various tasks on short notice.
  • Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, program management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available
  • Adhering to program review processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis
  • Driving value delivery for the infrastructure of a complex missile defense command and control system
  • Specify stakeholder needs to drive the frequent delivery of value to the customer
  • Coordinate and prioritize needs for multiple Task Orders across multiple Product Teams
  • Assess progress and report status to Leadership
  • Act as the technical interface with the Government
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and Work with other Product Teams to plan and execute program releases
  • Interface with the Run Ahead, System Architecture and Technical Leadership Teams and communicate priorities to the Product Team
  • Support preparation and presentation of briefings and demonstrations to customer
  • Support the accomplishment of Earned Value Management (EVM) by working closely with the CAMs, providing the supporting information to assess EV performance, and preparing variances and Estimates to Complete (ETCs).
  • Some travel between performance sites
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 9 years of experience in increasingly responsible Systems Engineering roles in developing, integrating, and supporting large-scale software-intensive systems, or a Master's degree and with at least 7 years of experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Candidate should possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical architecture baselines necessary to describe a command and control system.
  • Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in architecture development and SysML modeling in support of MBSE
  • Experience and understanding of EVM in a software development environment
  • Demonstrated experience as either a Product Manager or a Product Owner
  • Architecture development and coordination- experience defining the relationships between internal and external components; communicating architectural intent and constraints to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users
  • Skills-generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition
  • Skills in logical/physical architecture modeling, and knowledge of CI/CD pipeline architecture, RAM, Mission Assurance, Safety, and cyber security concepts
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
