QTEC Aerospace is seeking a LIFE CYCLE COST ANALYST to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. The qualified applicant will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program support to Missile Defense programs. The Life Cycle Cost Analyst (LCCA) is an essential role within the business organization, helping to identify the total costs associated with products and the program over the entire life span. This includes analyzing the initial purchase cost, installation cost, maintenance costs, repair costs, and eventual disposal cost. This will help program leadership make informed decisions on investments and identify cost-effective strategies to maximize the return on investment (ROI). In addition, the LCCA will develop plans to reduce the overall costs associated with the products, while maximizing quality and value.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • The development and delivery of Life Cycle Costing data and spares analysis in support of program outcomes and deliverables (e.g. LORA, Supply Chain, program logistics documentation)
  • Calculation of lifecycle cost, based on analysis results
  • Develop cost models for estimates (i.e. LCCEs) and update the estimates as required
  • Develop and analyze MS Excel cost models, to include use of risk analysis tool add-ins
  • Develop and maintain asset lifecycle cost models which include reliability, availability, and maintenance support details (including the use of automated tools such as Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tool (ACEIT) and any excel spread sheets) in support of engineering and ILS change decisions
  • Critically assess Material Subcontractor Support Solution changes, for financial impacts
  • Critically assess Operational data, trends, and changes for financial impacts
  • Maintain the integrity of the LCC Data and Assumption Lists

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience providing cost analysis

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience evaluating projects using different methods and options to determine the most cost-effective solution that meets the required specifications
  • Experience preparing cost estimates
  • Refine and adjust cost models in response to changes in technical specifications, support requirements, design alternatives, engineering, and operational trade-off proposals
  • Must have knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to accurately estimate and analyze the cost of products and services over their entire life cycle
  • Ability to identify, assess, and manage uncertainties and risks associated with life cycle cost estimates
  • Ability to develop, maintain and update financial models used in life cycle cost analysis
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data and draw meaningful conclusions from the results
  • Ability to plan, organize, manage, and monitor projects in order to meet objectives within budget and timeline
  • Ability to accurately document and present results of life cycle cost analysis in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues related to life cycle cost analysis
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and laws pertaining to life cycle cost analysis
  • Ability to research and identify sources of data relevant to life cycle cost analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • ACEIT experience preferred
  • Providing cost analysis and support to defense programs
  • Possess excellent data-gathering, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
