Structural Team Leader: Structural Team Leader and Project Manager

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

Strong Leadership Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the passion and ability to lead a group of structural engineers. Experience with mentoring, technical design, project management, workload scheduling and forecasting, and client relations are a plus.

Structural Engineering: More than 10 years of experience in the design of hydraulic structures, fisheries facilities, and/or bridges with the ability to manage small teams and multi-discipline projects throughout the full project cycle. A high level of technical structural design expertise is a must.

Industry Experience: Experience in the design of hydraulic structures, fisheries facilities, and/or bridges. Experience as a Consultant working with state and federal agencies, utilities, and private owners. Active involvement in professional organizations.

Field Experience: Periodic on-site inspection and evaluation.

Proven Marketing Experience: Solid writing and communication skills, including technical and persuasive writing for proposals and production of marketing literature. Strong history of client rapport and long-term professional relationships.

Personal Attributes: Strong leadership skills, high ethical standards, thrives on solving problems and helping clients, appreciation for team collaboration, conscientious of how your work affects the team and the client, self-driven, internal drive to know and understand better technology and solutions.

Responsibilities may include some or all the following:

· Leading and managing a small team of structural engineers (currently 3) to support a range of structural design projects. This includes scheduling, mentoring, training, and guiding engineers at all levels of experience.

· Project Management, including the management of expectations, project schedules, and budgets for both structural and multi-discipline teams.

· Lead engineering design projects, including the production of construction drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

· Work with clients to identify project needs and incorporate those needs into construction documents.

· Business development, including the development of professional relationships with owners, engineers, and contractors.

· Checking and quality control (QC) reviews.

· Perform field inspections and facility surveys.

· Provide Engineer of Record (EOR) support services during construction activities.

Required Qualifications:

· Professional Engineering (PE) license, or ability to become licensed within 6 months, in Idaho, Oregon, and/or Washington.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

· Experience leading technical teams of engineers.

· More than 10 years of structural design experience. Experience in consulting is preferred.

· Excellent oral and written communication in the English language.

· Knowledge and experience in the use of design codes.

· Occasional travel may be required.
