Job Description
Position Title: Quality Inspector
Wage: $20/hour
Shift: B
Hours: 5pm-5am
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Quality Inspector for a great company in the Janesville area. This position has the authority and responsibility of identifying, segregating, and deciding the initial disposition of non-conforming product, as well as notifying other personnel or supervision of any non-conforming product issues. The inspector has a workstation at the machine to inspect in real time.
Quality Inspector Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform Quality tasks during final inspection and testing of the tube
- Position product for final inspection and testing
- Verify gaging and test equipment for proper calibration prior to use
- Perform visual inspections and tests
- Measure and test 10% minimum, per heat per order, using calibrated and verified measurement devices as per requirements
- Enter inspection and test results in the Quality System
- Enter scrap or fallout data into the required systems
- Transfer product out of final inspection
- Perform customer required final inspections on product prior to shipment
- Interact with the Polish Operators and other production employees to ensure top quality product
- Support performance of 6S audits for the team and maintain associated documentation and postings as well as track associated action plans for the team and following up until completion
- General housekeeping
Quality Inspector Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with production employees and other areas of manufacturing
- Ability to communicate effectively with other shifts and other areas of manufacturing
- Ability to understand written customer order instructions and requirements
- Must be able to operate overhead crane
- 1 year of quality inspector experience
- Lift 35lbs repetitively throughout the day
- Stand and walk entire shift
- Bend, stoop, and reach frequently throughout the entire shift
- Able to complete repetitive hand movements throughout the day
- Good hand eye coordination
- High attention to detail
