QPS Employment Group is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Des Plaines, IL

Position Title: Quality Inspector - 1st Shift
Wage: $18.00/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00am - 2:00pm
QPS Employment Group is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our customer in Des Plaines, IL. This company provides retail merchandising and custom display solutions and has been in the industry for over 60 years. This position involves monitoring quality, auditing the extrusion process, and maintaining detailed records of production parameters. Quality Inspector Responsibilities:
- Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, other measuring devices and "samples" to ensure quality-finished product meets specifications
- Audit production and skids on line, checking line speed
- Read product drawings, specification sheet and shop orders to determine packaging and material requirements
- Inspect at start-up and approve for continued production
- Log processing parameters and equipment used
- Enter extrusion data into hot sheet
- Check color with spectrophotometer
- Check color let down % enter in to access
- Maintain barcode printers and label supplies
- Verify calipers and tape measures and enter results into calibration program
- Issue hold tickets when part quality is not to job specification
Requirements for Quality Inspector:
- Good measuring skills using calipers, comparator, Romidot, tape measure, steel rule, durometer tester, Gardner impactor tester, light box - visual color and appearance comparison, thickness gages, plug gages, pin gages, drop indicator, surface plate & force gages
