Qk4 is looking for Land Survey Field Technician in our Louisville or Frankfort, KY offices. This position assists field staff perform survey activities. We are looking for motivated individuals interested in learning and using land survey equipment and technology to provide innovative solutions to our clients. 

Job Duties:

• Sets up, adjusts, operates, inspects surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector to measure distances, elevations, angles, and other data in order to collect survey data.
• Processes data from manual or electronic field books
• Performs basic field calculations of horizontal and vertical geometry of roadways under supervision.
• Retraces or surveys boundary lines under supervision
• Performs calculations for construction stakeout for review
• Assists in researching existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents; and maintain field data record.

Job Qualifications

• Desire for a career in land surveying
• Ability to learn from survey mentors. 
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand various types of documents and operate instruments to provide accurate information.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work varying schedules, including out of town, overnight travel.
• Work environment is outdoors and potential rough terrain, and requires ability to walk, sit and stand while operating survey equipment.
