 Position Overview

The Hanwha Qcells R&D organization is seeking an experienced, motivated, and mission-driven Digital Transformation Project Leader to modernize and improve digital infrastructure and tools utilized by our researchers and engineers. The Digital Transformation Project Leader will create a digital transformation roadmap and be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of digital projects. 

This person will leverage strong project management and technical acumen and lead impactful cross-functional teams to drive digital execution by employing industry leading project management best practices and standards. This position will require significant collaboration, planning and real-time communication with global user groups, the Headquarters DT team, solution suppliers, and senior leadership to execute digital solutions on budget, with high quality and demonstrated value realization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and identify best practices, platforms, and systems across scientists and engineering community and significantly upgrade to a modernized, globally connected, and digitized environment working closely with the R&D team to develop the strategic roadmap and plan to move from current to future state.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Digital Transformation projects for the global R&D organization. 
  • Collaborate closely with subject experts on requirements definition, implementation, and launch to ensure adoption and continual feedback from users. 
  • Manage project deliverables to defined schedules and budgets to ensure project deliverables are achieved within project schedule and budget. 
  • Ensure all stakeholders are aligned around the vision, scope, schedule, and budget for the responsible portfolio project. 
  • Facilitate the day-to-day operational aspects of a digital transformation project, including project planning, milestone and success criteria definition, resource allocation plan, and risk management. 
  • Partner with internal and external project team members to ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and clear communication to all project stakeholders including senior management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and minimum 7 years relevant experience 
  • 5 years of experience in managing and delivering digital projects in dynamic organizations.
  • Capability to clearly understand business processes/project requirements and translate to comprehensive project and communication plans that will meet or exceed the defined business requirements.
  • Demonstrated vision for technology and digital transformation within a global organization, to guide the use of novel technologies to solve key business problems and the utilization of data and analytics to support data driven decisions.
  • Problem solving and analytical abilities including the ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and apply sound business knowledge. 
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization, leveraging influence and empathy to ensure successful digital transformation and increased digital literacy in all areas of the business
  • Ability to define and communicate the value proposition for technology and digital initiatives in support of an organization’s mission and priorities.
  • Ability to lead teams through change processes and to collaborate globally in cross functional teams (Korea, Europe, US).
  • Up to 20% travel may be required for this position.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English and Korean.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of digital transformation software solutions that will enable technical conversion of engineering products such as project management, analyses, technical data, and data storage (Enovia, Smartsheet, DOORS, Service Now, Confluence, etc.)
  • High Emotional Intelligence (EQ) specifically being a great active listener and communicator, who can convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing to various levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and leadership to drive results, remove execution barriers and anticipate and manage project risks.
  • Demonstrate Agile mindset and flexibility to lead through influence and track record of building strong partnerships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influence management skills including evidence of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, and follow-through skills and experience to check behind the scenes to ensure surprises are minimized. 
  • Demonstrated critical thinking - ability to make sound data driven business decisions; understand, track, drill down and question activities and issues in all functional areas. 
  • Self- directed, motivated, and results-oriented professional to drive the business outcomes, increase performance and deliver results with the aim of constantly improving organizational performance.
  • Self-reflective personality, able to learn and act on feedback.
