Location Description
Welcome to the World of Whirlpool, a unique and innovative closed-market facility nestled in the heart of Chicago. Operating as a dedicated Training and Conference Center, our purpose revolves around supporting the Sales Enablement team for Whirlpool Corporation. Situated within our building, the 8th floor is transformed into a state-of-the-art showroom, featuring 11 fully functional kitchens. This remarkable space serves as a hands-on training ground for trade partners, including sales representatives from renowned companies such as Home Depot. In 2010, Whirlpool made a strategic decision to create its own showroom floor, eliminating the need to transport appliances to trade shows. At Pyramid Global Hospitality, our role is pivotal in supporting this endeavor. We provide comprehensive hospitality services, including housekeeping, food and beverage offerings, meticulous event setups, and overall operational support. Overview
The World of Whirlpool is an experience like no other because we create unique experiences through workshops, hands-on kitchen & laundry demonstrations with experts in the appliance industry. Walk into the World of Whirlpool and begin a journey of discovery. We are both an appliance showcase highlighting a select group of Whirlpool Corporation brands, and a hands-on experience center offering exciting workshops and a chance to interact with experts.
BASIC FUNCTION: The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Director of Operations and the Operations team in overseeing the proper and smooth execution of department responsibilities. The Housekeeping Supervisor will also assist in monitoring all aspects of employee activity to ensure the highest quality in cleanliness and service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. On a daily basis, assist, coordinate and supervise the overall duties of the Operations Department with the Director of Operations.
2. Ensure that meeting rooms, show room spaces and office areas are clean and meet established standards through inspection and follow-up with housekeeping staff.
3. Evaluate housekeeping staff on a daily basis to determine quality of performance and skill.
4. Through close communication with the Director of Operations, recommend areas in need of improvement.
5. As situations dictate, discipline employees with intent to improve performance, attitude and appearance.
6. May assist in interviewing potential employee candidates and review with DOO. Upon hire, the Housekeeping Manager will ensure proper training to uphold standards.
7. Inspect all rooms and setups on a daily basis to ensure the highest quality of cleanliness and verify meeting room setups per Banquet Event Orders.
8. Assist in managing inventory cleaning supplies, guest supplies and amenities on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure adequate supply.
9. Valid Drivers License and ability to operate a 15 Passenger Van.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two years of college preferred.
• Two years housekeeping experience in a management or supervisory role required.
• Ability to handle high stress situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Good organizational skills.
• Detail oriented.
