The Food and Beverage Manager will ensure the effective and efficient operation of all facets of outlet operations within the hotel, while improving on the current model and be responsible for managing in a manner consistent with the mission, operating philosophy, standards, and values of the Benchmark.

Your Role : Work collaboratively with the Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef to instill a culture of excellence and inclusion to the benefit of staff and guests.

Attend weekly required meetings, relaying information about upcoming events to staff under his / her supervision. Run pre-service meetings in collaboration with culinary leadership, reviewing reservations, flow, VIPs, celebrations, food and beverage menu knowledge, steps of service, and service standards daily.

Relay information about the hotel, occupancy, group activity, and activities to staff daily. Train service staff daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis referencing annual training program.

Supply information about the restaurant and bar capabilities and programming to other departments and clients or potential clients.

Respond to needs and requests of guests and potential guests. Ensure that implementation and maintenance of standards of food, beverage and service quality are commensurate with a first-class operation.

Implement effective cost controls for food, beverage, and labor and take corrective action when necessary. Must be able to understand, read and explain profit & loss statements, labor reports, cost reductions, including labor.

Develop workable systems for inventory, receiving and product utilization (product cost). Develop standards of productivity for food & beverage personnel.

Responsible for implementing company-wide systems. Create appealing, high quality, marketable cycle menus and special event menus.

Create a comfortable atmosphere to encourage committed and loyal employees. Oversee hiring and training programs for food and beverage personnel.

Develop management skills in employees. Oversee weekly payroll and scheduling for areas of oversight within the department.

Must maintain proficiency and compliance with Utah State Liquor Laws and Procurement. Assist in the other Food and Beverage outlets in whatever capacity needed when asked.

Qualifications At least 2 years supervisory experience in food and beverage in a hotel, resort, or fine dining restaurant setting.

At least 1 year experience as a restaurant general manager or food and beverage manager Multi-outlet experience a plus Experience with Utah Alcohol Service and Procurement practices and laws a plus.
